Disney sent a cease-and-desist missive to Google connected Wednesday, alleging that the tech elephantine has infringed connected its copyrights, Variety reports.

Disney is accusing the tech elephantine of copyright infringement connected a “massive scale,” claiming it has utilized AI models and services to commercially administer unauthorized images and videos, according to the missive seen by Variety.

“Google operates arsenic a virtual vending machine, susceptible of reproducing, rendering, and distributing copies of Disney’s invaluable room of copyrighted characters and different works connected a wide scale,” the missive reads. “And compounding Google’s blatant infringement, galore of the infringing images generated by Google’s AI Services are branded with Google’s Gemini logo, falsely implying that Google’s exploitation of Disney’s intelligence spot is authorized and endorsed by Disney.”

The missive alleges that Google’s AI systems infringe characters from “Frozen,” “The Lion King,” “Moana,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Deadpool,” and more.” Google did not respond to TechCrunch’s petition for comment.

The determination comes the aforesaid time that Disney signed a $1 billion, three-year woody with OpenAI that volition bring its iconic characters to the company’s Sora AI video generator.
